Odisha teenager Kabir Hans added two more trophies to his cabinet by winning both the under-16 and under-18 boys singles titles in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament at VIP Club, Raipur, Chhattisgarh today.
Bhubaneswar lad Kabir fought back from one-set down to beat Ishan Sethi (Uttarakhand) 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in under-16 final match. In the under-18 singles summit clash, Kabir outplayed once again Ishan Sethi in straight sets of 6-3, 7-6(4). He also garnered a total of 50 AITA ranking points.
With these triumphs, Kabir increase his collection of AITA titles to nine, which included seven in singles and two in doubles. Son of Chetan Hans, Kabir started his career under the guidance of coach Subhranshu Charan Sarangi before joining Farhan Ali Academy in Bhubaneswar.
